Second Chances Scholarship Fund
Second Chances Scholarship Fund was created to help support our alumni students previously enrolled in our Second Chances Leadership Program. 90% of our Leadership students decided to pursue a higher education. The Second Chances Family believes it is important to support our students even after they have graduated from the program because life after high school can be a difficult journey for students. We want our students to know we are here to help and we appreciate all their hard work over the years.
Since 2007, the Second Chances Leadership Program has benefited over 250 scholars, one hundred percent of which have graduated high school. Of those 250 high school graduates, 207 scholars enrolled at a college or university.
We are energized by the SCLP’s success over the last 12 years—so much so that we recently announced our 5-year strategic plan to help 300 South Los Angeles high school students enroll in college by 2025.
Application Deadline – August 1st, 2019 for Fall Semester
Meet some of our SCLP scholars!
“FFSC has impacted my high school experience by motivating me to start a math club. The leadership skills I’ve learned have helped me to become more courageous and confident when I make decisions.”
“FFSC taught me the importance of community. One individual is able to do much alone, but it takes a village to complete a task and make a change. FFSC provided me with unconditional support throughout my journey. They praised me during my highs and uplifted me during my lows.”
“FFSC helped me to see my college journey from a variety of perspectives. The staff makes the college application process more understandable and always had us one step ahead. FFSC helped me to become a more well-rounded student both in my community and academic journey.”
