SECOND CHANCES MENTORING PROGRAM (SCMP)

Our program builds long-lasting, caring relationships between youth and mentors, fostering each youth’s individual growth and potential. SCMP helps to empower youth in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential.
The mentoring program uses adult volunteers to commit to supporting, guiding, and being a friend to a young person for a period of at least one year. By becoming part of the social network of adults and community members who care about the youth, the mentor can help youth develop and reach positive academic, career, and personal goals.

WHAT IT TAKES

Teamwork is something that is apart of life and its important to surround ourselves with a village of people that care about our best interest. That is why mentees and mentors are important, and the benefits of having these types of relationship are endless.

BENEFITS OF OUR PROGRAM:

  • Gain valuable insights– In working with our mentors, our mentee’s can gain insights into what it takes to achieve their personal, educational, and professional goals.
  • Develop an action plan – Mentorships will help our mentee’s pin point the skills and game plan they need to get ahead.
  • Improve communication skills –  Our mentors will help our mentee’s learn to communicate more effectively and how to manage and maintain strong relationships.
  • Gain new perspectives – Both mentor and mentee benefit by learning new ways of thinking through working and collaborating with each other.
